| all this talk now is about the Lakers possibly passing the Celtics
The Celtics were without KG most of the 2nd half of the season and still played solid ball.
They handled the Lakers easily in the 2008 NBA Finals.
The Celtics with KG and Leon Powe healthy are a far better team especially on defense.
They are getting old and itd be stupid of them if they were actually series about trading Ray Allen but they are still motivated to win as they showed this year.
Their rivals stealing the title from the may motivate them even more.
If KG stays healthy they could answer the Lakers and bring #18 back to Beantown.
Peirce is still a solid scorer and Ray Allen still has the magic touch.
Rajon Rondo emerged last year and is way better than he was in the 2008 Finals.
It can now be the big 4 with a healthy Rondo,Allen,Peirce, and Garnett
The Celtics surely will be hungry and motivated in 2009-2010. Do you think the Celtics will be better than the Lakers next year again?

| Having KG changes everything. He takes the team to the next level. Yes, I do think if KG can come back healthy next year, the Celts are better than the Lakers. Even though Gasol has impressed me in the playoff for not being soft anymore, KG is still much more hardened than Gasol.
Having Allen and Pierce will only help KG extend his career without having to do so many things. The Celtics will be one of the favorites in the East with Orlando and Cleveland next year.

| celtics would have won it this year with KG. KG holds the team together. The concern is that the big three are all getting older. The celtics found it hard to deal with the magic's athleticism. | |

| Having KG for the whole playoffs would have gotten the Celtics to the Finals again this year, if not win it all again, but not as easily against the Lakers.
The Boston Three Party will be now past their prime, or at best, at the very end of their prime next year. They MUST be healthy almost the whole season to remain competitive, and they need more help from guys like Kendrick Perkins and Glen Davis to take some of the slack that KG will inevitably have because he won't be as good as he was in past years... The Lakers however are in PRIME TIME now and are the clear favorite to win it in 2010.
Boston also has to worry about Orlando and Cleveland too, who will be at their level, if not better.

| With or without KG, the Celtics can do better next season. But I can't guarantee you that they'll do better than the Lakers, since the Lakers have proved themselves to be tougher than in 2008. The fact that the Lakers were 2-0 against the Celtics in the 08-09 season, even with Garnett playing. | |

| It's tough to really say, KG, Pierce and Allen are getting older now for the Celtics. However Rondo, Powe, Perkins and Davis are really showing potential so I think they are the future for Boston. Next season I think the Celtics will be a lot better, they are a different team when KG is there and everyone is active and healthy.

| Of course, lol Lakers fans said they lost in 2008 NBA finals because Ariza and Bynum were injured, wow what a weak excuse, who were Ariza and Bynum last year?
And then they said Celtics' fan shouldn't complain they didn't have KG in the Play off? wow what a Hypocrite, if Celtics have KG, they will crush Lakers' *** again in the finals.

If the Celts had KG and the Magic had Nelson, no difference. ANd don't YOU always say that it's all about MATCHUP. So? Celts cant matchup with Magic or Cavs, even with KG. But they can against L.A. If there were no such thing as injury, Play-offs would still be like this. Nelson to Magic. Garnett to Celtics. Yao to Rockets. Everything the same. Even Iverson to Pistons. It could change the number of games and everything, but not the outcomes.

If McGrady and Yao were both healthy I think they could make a surprise run at the Finals. Yes TMac has never made it out of the 1st Round but hes averaged 28 PPG in his playoff career and has played with a bunch of injured squads. Hes washed up I would say but if he came out and had a strong playoffs plus with the way Brooks,Yao(before the injury),Artest, and Scola were playinf they could've maybe pulled the upset of LA and maybe we would be talking about them as 2009 Champs

And yes I forgot about T-Mac. Rockets are really good, but just like the Celts, Spurs, or Pistons. If they want a Ring, better do it quick or else wait another 5-10 years for another strong lineup.

| The thing is look at last season.................. The celtics still had 2 game 7 WITH Garnett but won.... and this year had two game 7 won 1 and lost v.s Orlando the second time
i honestly think he was the reason they won the presence in the middle the D, And just his overall wanting that ring very bad..... even tough he has become cocky of it .. i just think if they would been healthy then they would of gone to the Finals again.
This time the Lakers would win because i think of these reasons Homer court plays a HUGE Role last year and it did this year.. the Lakers had a 2-0 lead and i think also from the 39 point BEAT DOWN in game 7 and game 4 hell melt down and just what they learned abotu thelselves as players after that series it made then a better team just for suffering that and they could of done nothing about it, but they did they had that hunger that team unity that passion and will to win this year and they did.
So lets see what happens in 09-10

| Well, if the Magic had Nelson and the Celtics had Garnett, it would be like Celtics without Garnett vs. Bulls. But the Lakers are better either way, if you ask me. | |
